NBA Training Camps

September 29, 2008

This week NBA training camps open up and it is always an exciting time for the players, coaches and the fans.  Everyone is optimistic about the upcoming season.  Of course, nobody has lost a game yet so optimism does flow.  Coaches have probably gone out of town, to isolate themselves, to have meetings to plan out their [...]

When Blogs Go Bad

September 26, 2008

Yes, I’m back.  We’ll get to that some other time, though.  Bringing me out of my hiatus (a new Kia SUV) is a story that touches on/massages/ticklefights a major issue our generation faces right now… accountability on the internet.
To illustrate this, I give you Matthew Wolfe, the genius proprietor of the Seattle Seahawks fan blog, [...]

Days of Monta Ellis Part Deux

September 25, 2008

The details have surfaced to my blog post Days of Monta Ellis and it looks as if Ellis did not injury his ankle playing pickup basketball as he said. Shocking…
The San Fransisco Chronicle is reporting that Monta Ellis injured his ankle in a mo-ped accident. Such an occurrence is a direct breach of Ellis’ new [...]

Gminski, Brown and the Bobcats

I can not believe it, but we are only a couple of weeks away from the start of NBA training camps! As we look to the new season, there are plenty of new faces at the helm of many NBA teams, which brings many question marks. One in particular is how Coach Larry Brown will [...]

Hakeem the “Dream”

September 18, 2008

I saw recent Hall of Fame inductee, Hakeem Olajuwon, the first time when he was a freshman at the University of Houston.  I was with the Indiana Pacers, and we were in Dallas to play the Mavericks. The night before the game, the Southwest Conference was holding its conference tournament in Dallas. I got a couple [...]

Patrick Ewing, new Hall of Famer

September 17, 2008

Continuing to write about the 2008 Hall of Fame inductees which I started Wednesday, I would  like to  spotlight Patrick Ewing.  It’s strange.  I feel a real affinity for Ewing, almost like I coached him.  I am not sure why that is, though it could be because I have such respect for him as a player, and as [...]

Choose your own NBA adventure

September 15, 2008

Just a quick note for those NBA fans out there that would like to see their teams’ games televised more.  The NBA recenly announced that on Tuesday night they will have “interactive fan night“, where fans will be able to vote and decide on which games NBA.tv will televise nationally.   No, sorry, that is not Kris Kaman on the [...]

Jason Kidd, Mavericks Savior or Coach Killer?

September 15, 2008

Over the last couple of days, I have come across a number of sites who are giving their predictions for the upcoming basketball season. I want to offer my two cents as well. I am not going to give my direct predictions today. I will probably wait to offer them up once NBA training camps open, [...]
