Category: Passing
Skill Level: Middle School, High School Passing Drills
Required: 2 Basketballs, Team
Instructions:

Have one player start on both wings and one player on both blocks. At the top of the key, have the remaining players on the team broken up into two lines.

The balls will start in the two lines at the top of the key and drill starts when these lines throw a chest pass to the players on the wings and the drill goes on simultaneously on both sides of the court.

After receiving the pass from the top, the wings throw a bounce pass (post-pass) into the post. The post players receive the pass and pivots to the middle throwing an overhead pass to the opposite line at the top of the key.

The drill continues on in this fashion and each player goes to the end of the line in which they threw their pass to.

Keys to the Drill
  • Make sure the players are using the proper passing technique for chest, bounce and overhead passes.
  • When the post player is posting up, make sure they are in the proper post up form, on balance and a big target.
  • Feel free to have coaches get involved and mimic playing defense either on the post or guarding the wings.
