I was a huge fan of Kevin Duckworths and for my 65th Birthday, today, my three kids mailed me a jersey with DUCK on the back and 00 on the front! It is wonderful! I only wish it were a size smaller so it would fit me! I'll cherish it, forever!

While I didn't really know Kevin Duckworth, I did play against him in Summer Pro-Am leagues and pick up games. He was a nice guy who worked very hard to get better and was generous in helping those of us playing in college get better. The first time I had to guard him (he was 6" taller probably 100 pounds heavier) he basically ran me over and nearly ripped the rim off the backboard. Not a proud moment for me. After the game he stayed to continue working out. I stayed too at the opposite ond of the gym. He remembered our encounter, came over to my end of the court and took the time out of his workout to teach me a few things so I stood a chance next time. He didn't have to do that for a lower level college player but he did. The Trailblazers in the early 90's were a good team with a bunch of decent guys and Kevin was one of them.
