Nets Give Tickets to Save Economy
The New Jersey Nets are doing their part to try to help people and companies in a time of need. They are using their medium of entertainment as a source of philanthropy to bring the unemployed together with solid companies.
The Nets announced today that they will be giving away free tickets for anyone who is unemployed in exchange for their resume. The Nets will then distribute those resumes to the Nets sponsors and advertisers.
Of course the Nets should benefit as well (concessions must still be paid for), but at the core it is an admirable effort. By making 300 tickets available for five home games, they are helping to fill seats, and fill people’s hearts. We must hope that other entertainment venues take note and use their draw to help others.
