The basic concept of Passing Game is to keep every area of the court filled by one player. There should not be two or more players in one specific area for too long of a period. Obviously, if players are setting screens for one another, they will be in the same area for a brief moment–then they should get themselves balanced on the court.
Players fill the areas by cutting, screening and dribbling. There is constant movement in Passing Game putting plenty of pressure on the defense. Players need to not only read the defense, but their teammates as well, and continue to keep the floor balanced with only one player in every area.
Spacing is paramount and players should maintain 15′-18′ feet space between one another. This amount of spacing puts pressure on the help side defense and creates passing, dribbling and cutting lanes.
